QinetiQ Commerce Decisions - awarded G-Cloud services contract by Government Procurement Service

QinetiQ Commerce Decisions - awarded G-Cloud services contract by Government Procurement Service

QinetiQ Commerce Decisions (QCDL) have secured positions in both the Software as a Service (SaaS) and Specialist Cloud Services lots of the new G-Cloud Services framework. The Government plans to launch the first tranche of the G-Cloud catalogue later this month.

The Government Procurement Service (GPS) has put in place a Pan Government G-Cloud Framework Agreement (RM1557).  It will be available for use by UK Public Sector bodies, which include Central Government Departments and their Arms Length Bodies and Agencies, Non Departmental Public Bodies, NHS Bodies & Local Authorities as a procurement vehicle by which to access Cloud Computing Services. The £60m framework covers four lots: infrastructure as a service, platform as a service, software as a service and specialist cloud services.

G-Cloud is the UK Government's programme to adopt cloud-based services. G-Cloud covers the processes of buying, managing and using cloud services. The aim of G-Cloud is to provide Public Sector Bodies with a range of the best industry IT services and solutions available off-the-shelf for use when they need them.  It will give them the ability to change service providers easily without lengthy procurement and implementation cycles. Each solution is complete, and already assured for security, performance and service management.
