A research project by MBA students
at Oxford Said Business School into high value strategic procurements
has illustrated the key reasons behind the success or failure of procurement
projects. The research included the views of over 100 senior procurement
managers and directors drawn exclusively from the commercial sector.

(DLogME) have selected AWARD software to support coherence across
the procurement processes. The Maritime Equipment Cluster is responsible
for equipment maintenance procurement and logistics across the UK
surface and subsurface fleet.

Slough Borough Council has selected
AWARD software from Commerce Decisions to assist in the management
of the selection and negotiation process during the procurement phase
of a key education PFI project. Slough Borough Council has been awarded
£46.7 million from the Department for Education and Skills to
rebuild three schools in the Borough, having had the outline business
case for the PFI project approved.

Navy to support the acquisition of three new multi-purpose Mine Counter
Measures Vessels 2010 (MCMV 2010 project). The project's primary objective
is to enhance the Navy's operational capability to secure the Sea
Lines Of Communications (SLOC) in Littoral areas and to participate
in International Crisis Respond Operations in Europe. The vessels
are to be delivered during 2009 to 2012.

Commerce Decisions, held their first user conference since the creation
of the company in 2001. During the last 24 months the company has
built up a broad set of customers drawn from both the buying of, and
bidding for, complex products and services. The projects themselves

has secured €1.2M in its first round of funding. Private angel
investors led the round of funding and included Simon Murdoch, who
is also co-founder of Episode 1 the venture capital company and Oxford
Technology 2 VCT, a venture capital trust. Commerce Decisions will
use the capital to drive sales of its AWARD software pilot to government
bodies and multinational companies, and to secure channel partners.
Existing customers of the software pilot include QinetiQ, Europe's
largest science and technology organisation.
