Neville Salkeld - Managing Director of Consulting, QinetiQ

Neville Salkeld was appointed Managing Director Consulting on 1 April 2008. With over 1,100 staff and associates, covering a broad range of disciplines, Consulting is one of the largest technical consulting organisations in Europe. Neville’s role is to enhance our position as a trusted advisor in both the public and private sectors. Previously he had provided direction, oversight and customer relationship management across QinetiQ’s UK MOD business.

Neville joined QinetiQ in 2002 as Group Director of Business Planning. Shortly afterwards, he additionally became responsible for the QinetiQ Venture Fund. He also co-led a major corporate strategy review that resulted in the company’s expansion into North America. In 2004, he was appointed Managing Director of the Centre for Human Sciences. In this position he developed and implemented a plan to restructure the division to improve performance and enhance market positioning, whilst winning critical research contracts.

Prior to joining QinetiQ, Neville worked for eight years as management consultant at McKinsey & Co. His early career was spent with Oxford Lasers Ltd. He holds a degree in Physics from Lincoln College, Oxford University, and an MBA from the Cranfield School of Management. Neville has been a trustee of the QinetiQ Pension Fund since July 2006.

Stephen Cording - Finance Director EMEA, QinetiQ

Stephen Cording joined QinetiQ in August 2008 as Finance Director EMEA, responsible for all financial aspects of the business, including driving financial performance and managing the company’s investments. He also leads the finance team in supporting business profitability and meeting shareholder expectations.

Prior to working at QinetiQ, Stephen ran his own management consultancy for 5 years, with clients including the MoD and other Government departments. Before this he was at BAE Systems for 17 years.

John Thompson - Managing Director, QinetiQ Commerce Decisions

John Thompson was co-founder and Managing Director of Commerce Decisions prior to its acquisition by QinetiQ. Before setting up Commerce Decisions, John was a business manager at QSS, a software tools company and has previously held roles in software development, product management, and consulting for a number of leading organizations including Prime Computer, Xerox and the Defence Evaluation and Research Agency (DERA).
